The amount raised through Aviva’s crowdfunding platform will be used to develop a series of workshops co-produced with Disabled people that help enhance independent living skills.

Donations from Aviva employees and the public would help us to expand our work around increasing independence and inclusion for Deaf and Disabled people in Merton. We would use the funding to support the development of co-produced self-advocacy workshops that would equip Disabled people with the skills to navigate the cost-of-living crisis, increase their financial independence and live more inclusive lives. The sessions would allow those involved to get connected and take control of their wellbeing.

The sessions will be developed and run by Disabled people and will therefore, directly meet the needs of those in attendance, as well as be accessible. The tools and information shared at each session will be informed by lived experience, which is said to be a powerful tool for creating lasting change. The sessions will provide people with skills to manage/review their income, challenge price increases, apply for grants independently and create connections with local support organisations.

So, let’s work together and raise money to keep our important work going! Please share our campaign with your friends, family and work colleagues - https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/p/independent-living-skills-for-disabled-people
