Our Community - group of Disabled People

At Merton CIL, we believe that building an engaged, informed and connected community is key to Disabled people feeling included, supported and confident that together we can make change happen. Our growing community is made up of Disabled people and supporters of our aims.

How to become a member of our community

It is free and easy to become a member of our community. Just complete the short form below or get in contact with us by telephone or email to let us know you are interested in joining. If you come along to an event, we can sign up up as a member in person too.

Why you should join our Community of Members:

  • We are stronger together – having more members supports us to work towards achieving disability justice and our vision of society where we (Disabled people) can live as full and equal citizens in all aspects of life and lead systemic change.

  • Accessible spaces to connect with other Disabled people including free events - this can help with isolation, loneliness, relieving stress and collective well-being.

  • Free monthly Craftivism and Chat sessions - materials, refreshments and access support* are free for members of our community.

  • Have a say in how we run our organisation – vote at our AGM and share feedback to help us improve our work and services.

  • Support to stay updated and knowledgeable on issues that impact our community.

  • Opportunities to lead change – Join our Building Disabled Leaders programme, Access Champions or become a trustee.

  • More community perks coming soon – including invitations to free training sessions, and more.

We keep a register of members of our community. We will not share any personal details with anyone else. Read our Privacy Policy here.
