Each year, our AGM and My Voice Matters events create opportunities for members of our community to come together and connect, celebrate all that we have achieved together, and discuss ways that we can push for the change that we hope to see.
We were delighted that over 50 individuals came along to this year’s event and a number of members who were unable to come along in person submitted proxy votes.

Our AGM was hosted by our Board of Trustees. Please see below for a summary of information shared, decisions made and changes:
- Our Chair, Estifanos shared some of our impact over the past year and our plans for the year ahead. You can read more in our Impact Report.
- Our Vice Chair Amanda shared how we had spent our money and an overview of the money we raised. You can see our illustrated financial statement and full financial statement here.
- We voted Estifanos to become the Chair of our Board of Trustees.
- We voted Kirstin to become our Vice Chair of our Board of Trustees.
- Amanda Edwards and Gina Vettese (former Co-Chair’s) stood down from the Board of Trustees. We thanked them both for their work and Amanda gave a short speech on behalf of her and Gina.
- Our full members also approved Cornwell and Cornwell as our independent examiners and approved our 2024-25 Financial Statement.
We also answered a number of questions from members about our funding and managing our income.

We closed the AGM with a short story shared by trustee Sarah (who is also a part of our Access Champions group). Sarah faced barriers accessing New Wimbledon Theatre due to a broken lift. She worked with other Access Champions to push for the Theatre to be made accessible again. Keep an eye out for a short video of Sarah’s story on social media.

At My Voice Matters, we discussed the barriers that we are currently facing as a community and creative solutions to these issues. The feedback from this event will help to shape and power our future work pushing for change.

We ended the event by asking all attendees, if there was one action they would take after todays event to make things better for our community. We were pleased to hear that people were going to:
- Get more involved and connect with other local Disabled people to make things better locally.
- Get more people to join Merton CIL’s community of members.
- Explore becoming a trustee at Merton CIL.
- Fundraise for Merton CIL
- Come along to Craftivism and Chat
- And more.
