We have vibrant Black, South Asian, Asian, Hindu and Sikh communities in Merton and we believe that we all deserve to live free from discrimination, feel safe and feel included. To make this a reality and celebrate the diversity of Disabled people in Merton, it is important that we connect and strengthen our community of members.

We will work to create more accessible and safe spaces for Disabled people to come together, share our lived experiences, learn and shape the work of Merton CIL. Together as a community, we can organise, to challenge the issues that we are facing and make change happen.

Our Chair Estifanos said "It is important that we think about inclusivity as well as intersectional themes in all the work we do. This is important in fully serving the needs of our service users, staff and community. As a Deaf and Disabled People's Organisation, we mustn’t just think about disability but also consider intersecting areas of discrimination, such as race and religion, that affect the lives of some of the Disabled community".

Please join us at My Voice Matters on 13th Nov, where we will be discussing the barriers that we are currently facing and creative ways that we can push to make things better. Together we are stronger and we would love to hear from you!

There will be free lunch and refreshments, access support, peer support and more.

We hope to see you there! You can find out more about the event and how to RSVP here.
